I have met more than friends, I have formed a second family in this city where I arrived without knowing anyone. They are there in good times and bad, we have fun, we talk seriously and we build a strong relationship that (I know) will last forever. The people of my colony are now essential to my life (and I miss them when I go away for the weekend :)).

I’ve made some lifelong friends at Colonies! Living here is very similar to my Erasmus experience. There is a real mix of nationalities and cultures and a good sense of camaraderie. It’s been great to have friends just down the hallway as I’ve adjusted to a new city. It was amazing to be able to move in with just a suitcase and have all of the amenities I needed ready to use.

Instead of moving to another apartment as I originally planned, I have just changed studios in the same Colonies residence. It’s the perfect balance between a private space and the opportunity to get to know new people and interact. If you want to see people and connect you can go to the common areas, if you just want to make some tea and lie down on the weekend you can do that as well.

I feel a little older than the other tenants, but I’m almost the same in other aspects. Every week I teach them a new dish and cook for everyone in the house at least once. Colonies is a place where I can share myself and be a part of a group, a part of something! And share food, culture and life experiences with wonderful people.

What is the difference with a shared apartment?

More flexibility, more security, more professionalism, more simplicity, more independence. Unlike a shared apartment, you sign a lease with a professional landlord, who takes care of covering the common costs for you, such as electricity, water, heating, utilities and home insurance. Colonies also takes care of finding and recruiting new tenants! A coliver leaves your residence? You will not have to pay any additional fees for the available room. Moving out at the end of your lease? You won't have to continue paying for your old private unit until someone else takes it over.

Close
How do you choose the tenants?

Our approach is above all human: we systematically call all candidates wishing to join one of our houses. Our team is trained to evaluate the profiles and affinities likely to get along well. And yes, your future best friend may already be living with us!

Close
Who is responsible for keeping the house in good condition?

In short: you :) It's your house, so you share with your roommates the responsibility of taking care of the housework and keeping the house clean and in good condition. To make it easier for you, a cleaning service will clean the common areas once a week.

Close
Can I work from home?

Absolutely! Some of our homes even have a coworking space, and most of our homes have high-speed fiber optic Internet connections that should be sufficient for telecommuting, although the connection is not comparable to a company's.

We have good press
