These multiple confinements and curfews have allowed us to observe an exodus of some Parisians this year, envious of more green spaces.

The health crisis: the big trigger.

For many of us, these repeated confinements have made us want to change our air and breathe again. During these oppressive months of confinement, more than 450,000 Parisians have taken advantage of it to seek refuge in larger spaces with gardens. Today, Parisians aspire to a better living environment, more space and greenery. According to an Ipsos study for Icade published this summer, 35% of us areconsidering moving** in the next few months to larger spaces. In Île-de-France, houses with gardens are now popular and in one year, their purchases increased by 13.5%. in the region!

This desire to get away from it all, to get away from it all, to get to the great outdoors has been made possible by the democratization of telecommuting. Many of us have experienced working from home during this pandemic, and it has literally changed everything! No more 1h crowded subway in the morning, no more noisy open spaces, no more stress due to traffic jams, working from home is now possible (and much better).

At Colonies, we are completely in line with this trend and to meet these needs, we have provided everything: large living spaces and green exteriors, terraces, garden rooms, workrooms with excellent internet connection and, above all, the support of a community in these difficult times.

The suburbs: the new Eldorado for Parisians.

Parisians no longer hesitate to move away from the capital to the suburbs and this migration is not new! Thanks to new and faster transport lines (the Grand Paris), the democratization of telecommuting and the desire for calm and green spaces, the suburbs are constantly growing. According to a recent INSEE study, by 2050 the capital will lose many inhabitants. Thus, the central districts will be emptied...sometimes up to 25%.. Colombes, Créteil, Noisy-le-Grand, Argenteuil, Fontainebleau or Gif-sur-Yvette are to be watched closely...
